Chicago Bishop Blesses Wind Turbine

Bishop Hee-Soo Jung was in town to bless the wind turbine that was placed on top of the fair trade store Just Goods a few months ago. The bishop also blessed the efforts of Rockford Urban Ministries to use more alternative energy.

So far, the wind turbine that was installed is a success. "It's been producing more electricity than we need and it's putting it back into the grid," Rockford Urban Ministries Director Stanley Campbell said.

The mini spins and spins in our Texas Panhandle high plains wind and at times generates up to 18 volts.

In order to expedite the installation, I shoveled out a fifteen foot diameter hole in the two-foot snow bank by the beach and --------- Helicopters dropped in the turbine via cargo sling on the 25th March; such is the Southeast Alaska weather. The parts and pieces appear to be in good shape and I must wait until the frost is gone to dig for pedestal foundation and installation.
